Safe Streets, Strong Neighborhoods, Thriving Families

About Stephen

A proud father raising young children with his wife Sarah, Stephen is leading with a simple vision: a San Francisco where families can grow, businesses can thrive, and neighborhoods feel safe and welcoming.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Board of Supervisors — from both the public and private sectors.

And as District 2 Supervisor, he has focused on the basics: making our streets safer, keeping neighborhoods clean, and supporting the small businesses that make our community vibrant.

FROM CLEAN STREETS TO DATA DRIVEN Solutions

Stephen has spent his career in public service — first in the New York City Mayor’s Office and then as San Francisco’s Innovation Director — working on complex challenges like sanitation, homelessness, disaster response, and how to make city services more effective.

As Director of the Office of Innovation, his work focused on data-driven solutions and coordinated service delivery, including the creation of ASTRID, an innovative system that integrates housing, health, and emergency response data to provide comprehensive support to unhoused residents. His commitment to accountability and transparency has helped direct resources to those who need them most.

And his career in the private sector — from infrastructure investing to building software to support non-profits and civic engagement — hammered home that approach: cutting through bureaucracy, focusing on results, and always keeping the people and neighborhoods around us at the center of decision-making.

STANDING UP FOR SAN FRANCISCO

He also believes San Francisco should always stand for its values, whether it’s keeping our communities safe through stronger gun safety measures or supporting local institutions like Planned Parenthood in District 2 that protect access to care.

You can often find him walking the Marina Green with his family, grabbing coffee on Fillmore Street, or meeting with small business owners on Union Street. Stephen is accessible, responsive, and determined to make local government work for the people it represents.

Stephen is focused on building on the progress we’ve made together and ensuring San Francisco’s future is even brighter than its past.

START, STAY & GROW

Stephen’s priorities are about building on the progress we’ve made — safer streets, stronger small businesses, and a city that works for families.
That means:

  • Public Safety and Clean Streets: Safe, welcoming neighborhoods where families and businesses can thrive.

  • Thriving Small Businesses: Cutting red tape, filling storefronts, and keeping entrepreneurs at the heart of San Francisco’s recovery.

  • A Family-Friendly City: Making it possible and joyful to raise kids here, with safe streets, strong schools, and reliable neighborhood services.

  • City Services That Work: Making sure the basics like sidewalks, parks, and everyday services are delivered consistently.

"A better San Francisco begins with getting the basics right."

My Priorities

A SAN FRANCISCO THAT WORKS FOR YOU

A San Francisco where families can grow, businesses can thrive, and neighborhoods feel safe and welcoming

  • Safe Neighborhoods

I’m committed to stronger public safety, from more police foot patrols to smarter strategies for addressing fentanyl and keeping families safe.

  • Clean Streets

Every neighborhood deserves reliable street cleaning, trash pickup, and park maintenance so our city feels welcoming and cared for.

  • Stronger Small Businesses

Small businesses are the backbone of District 2, and I’ll keep pushing to cut red tape, support family-run shops, and bring energy back to our corridors.

  • Supporting Families

As a dad raising kids in the district, I know how important it is to make San Francisco a place where families can put down roots and grow.

  • Standing by Our Values

San Francisco should always reflect the values we share, from advancing gun safety to protecting access to health care and ensuring our city stays inclusive and welcoming.

  • Responsive Government

City Hall should work for you. My office is accessible, responsive, and focused on turning community concerns into real results.
